Taverham January 2023

This week we completed a project in Taverham where we hired Hallam Tree Services to remove some very large conifers, about 20 in total.

We then hired a digger from PJ Lee hire in Bungay and began to remove the stumps and roots and moved tonnes of soil around the garden to create two level areas. These will be divided by oak sleepers and held in place with galvanised slot posts. They were fixed by timber screws into the top and hole filled with an oak plug to hide the fixing. Sanded and the front edge routered to give a nice finish. We also added a step to make access to the top area easier.

The ground was then rotovated and levelled again before adding 10 tonnes of Baileys topsoil onto which the Medler Turf was laid.

A new raised hedge was planted using standard Ligustrum ‘Superbum’ which are a variegated privet. Evergreen and approx 2.5m in height but with a clear stem will give privacy without block out too much light as the conifers did. All trees were staked.
